Senior Administrative Assistant

Sherry Copeland

Sherry and her husband, Michael (ACBC Praise and Worship Leader/Deacon), joined Autumn Creek Baptist Church in March 2020 - the week before the pandemic shut everything down.  They had just moved to Houston from Plano, TX, where they were members of Prestonwood Baptist Church for 19 years.  Sherry was involved in the Children's ministry from the beginning as a volunteer, then worked as a childcare worker during the week.  In 2002, she applied to Prestonwood CLC Plano as a preschool teacher to teach in their Mother's Day Out program.  She was a classroom director of 2-year-olds for 10 years before accepting the position of Assistant Program Director of the CLC Program in 2012.  She worked in that capacity until August 2018, when she resigned from her position to prepare for their family's move to Houston.  She "got the itch" to work and teach children again after joining ACBC, so in September 2020, she began working in the MDO program here at ACBC.  She taught two and three-year-olds, loving every minute of it.  It wasn't until this past spring that the position in the church office became available.  After much prayer, she felt God leading her in another direction to serve her church.

Sherry recently moved into the Senior Administrative Assistant role at ACBC in May, and she says she is still learning the ins and outs of the position, but is enjoying her new position at ACBC.   She is passionate about her church, its members, and ACBC's mission.  Her church is a huge part of her life, and she is devoted to doing the kingdom's work.

One of her favorite Bible verses is: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is older, he will not depart from it."

- Proverbs 22:6

Another favorite verse is: "You are the light of the world.  Let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:14,16
